Here's another blog for boomers: http://boomersrememberhistory.blogspot.com. Most of us remember the flower children in San Francisco in 1968, but there was so much more to the boomers. There was fear of a nuclear bomb annihilating us all. There was fear of the Vietnam War and being drafted, or having our friends killed in those faraway rice paddies and jungles. There was fear of lots of things, especially after JFK was assassinated. The effect it had was to drive some of us into the counterculture, while others took an activist role to ensure that our children wouldn't face the same fears. And some just went on with their lives by getting married and having kids.
Looking back, younger generations might think that all boomers wanted to drop out and have fun. You had to be there to appreciate the madness of the times.
