Friends, I have spent 12-13 hours rebuilding I Remember JFK.
I'm building a new site (more on that later) and whilst muddling about on my dedicated server that I lease, I managed to blow away I Remember JFK.
"No prob" I thought to myself. "I'll just have my hosting service retore from backup."
Well, my hosting service figures if you're savvy enough about technology to run your own server, you should also be smart enough to create a backup routine.
Ergo, my sore back and strained eyes.
Fortunately, the writing was undamaged. That all sits in a MySQL database. But I have probably lost 20% of my graphics, as can be evidenced by the numerous holes where "pitchers" used to be.
However, you will notice a different look to I Remember JFK. I hope it will appeal to you. The MT template that I used to build the original site on was nowhere to be found. D'oh!
As a side note, my RSS feed somehow got crossed with my bad boss site, JIM IS BOSS, in the confusion. I notice my traffic there was way up today, likely because of the goof. Any nostalgic Boomers who were traumatized by the all-caps-using, misspelling mogul, my apologies.
Anyhow, we're back, I think. If you see something else broken (besides missing graphics. I'm working on those), LMK via my feedback form.
Now, to contact tech support and arrange for a backup routine to be installed . . .

That reminds me of backing up files on the old 5.25" floppies (360 kB). I never got to use the old 8" floppies. Then there were the 3.5" floppies (1.44 MB). Now we are lucky to store everything on the flash drives shaped like a butane lighter and holding 256 MB to 1 GB. But my web pages are backed up on a second hard disk drive.
