What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been

Just a few personal words today about where I Remember JFK has been, and where it's heading.

As you know, or perhaps don't, I woke up in the middle of the night last November with an idea for a cool website. Its premise would be if you could remember anything at all about JFK, even if it was just the news coverage of his unfortunate demise, then you would also remember whatever memory I threw your way. Why? Because I remember him, and I also remember (fill in the blank here).

Traffic is nice now, close to 15K visits monthly. It has grown steadily since the two big blasts caused by my February mention on CBS's The Early Show and my fortunate Kim Komando pick the next month.

I expect another nice steady acceleration to my rising number of visitors. I recently came to an agreement with aginghipsters.com to periodically feature my columns on their site.

That will be bonzer, because they are the second-rated site on the web at Google if you type in Baby Boomer, right behind the Wikipedia entry. I expect the agreement will be quite beneficial for both of us, and they agree.

We are about to pass another milestone. At presstime, we have 495 comments. The simple little captcha I have installed on the feedback form successfully blocks perhaps 40-50 spam comments daily. That means every one of those comments is legit from you, readers. Please, keep 'em coming!

I'm also going to be reworking the site's categories. It turns out that there just isn't that much to write about Mad Magazine, so that category will be abandoned and its stories moved to Books, Magazines, Etc. On the other hand, I think there will be enough Beatles articles in addition to the ones already written that I feel they warrant their own category. Further category tweaking will no doubt take place as the site matures.

So thanks again for riding along, and here's to many, many more Boomer memories coming your way!

Recommend I Remember JFK to your friends!

Attention everyone....Ron Enderland will be moderately famous one day with this column
and offshoots.....and deservedly so for one
of the most creative sites on the web. How he thinks of something new everyday amazes me almost as much as the humor and knowledge imparted on each subject.
Keep it up, Ron!

Rhonda:

I check in every morning before work to see what your latest memory will be and usually think, "oh yea, I remember that!" Thanks, and keep 'em coming!

It's amazing what you've accomplished. Good for you!

Doug Fletcher:

Congrats Ron. You deserve all the recognition you receive.
